Marvin Hamlisch Net Worth $20 Million Dollars

Marvin Hamlisch net worth: Marvin Hamlisch is an American composer and conductor who has a net worth of $20 million dollars. Marvin Hamlisch was born in Ny, New York, and was a musical child prodigy. He started playing everything he heard on the radio when he was five, and was accepted to the Juilliard Pre-College Department when he was seven. His first jobs were working as Barbara Streisand’s rehearsal pianist during preparation for “Funny Girl” on Broadway, and playing at prestigious bashes throughout Manhattan, including producer Sam Spiegel’s assemblies. He started composing music for various musicians, and had his first hit song, “Sunshine, Lollipops, and Rainbows” in 1965. The song, that was recorded by Lesley Gore, reached #13 on the Billboard Hot 100. He went on to a really prolific and successful career, winning four Emmy Awards, three Oscars, a Tony, and four Grammy Awards (EGOT). That makes him one of only 11 EGOTs in history. He also won the Pulitzer Prize. He’s among only two individuals to have received all five honours. He also won two Golden Globe Awards. He passed away in August 2012.

#Quote
1[on The Way We Were (1973)] I wanted to write something that was uplifting and positive. On the other hand, there is a tremendous amount of bittersweetness to that film, so it's a real duality. And that why I think the song - though it is in a major mode - is quite sad.
2Music can make a difference. There is a global nature to music which has the potential to bring all people together.
3My whole life revolves around dessert.
4To put something on Earth that wasn't there yesterday, that's what I like.
