Produced in Brooklyn, Ny, John Staluppi started working as automobile mechanic, mostly on Chevrolets, when he was sixteen years of age. After showing promise as a mechanic, his dad took out financing to help him start his first Sunoco station. He went to manage and possess several Sunoco stations, and after that used the profits from his gas station business to put money into a then fledgling firm called, Honda. He started a Honda bike store in the early 70s, and went on to possess 20 distinct places.
