Chuck Yeager net worth: Chuck Yeager was born in Myra, West Virginia, and went to military camp when he was a teenager. After graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Army Air Force, and began working as an aircraft mechanic at George Air Force Base in California. He became among the very widely respected pilots in the Armed Forces during the Second World War. After the war, he became a test pilot at Muroc Army Air Field. On October 14, 1947, he became the first person to break the sound barrier, flying the X1 at Mach 1.07 at 45,000 feet. He went on to break multiple rate and altitude hurdles before retiring from the Air Force in 1975. His work and expertise with aircraft was instrumental in the evolution of the space program. Celebrity Sam Shepherd impersonated him in the film, “The Right Stuff”.
