While in college, Andrea was the News Director for the college radio station, WXPN. Andrea began working for KYW radio in Philadelphia immediately after graduation, and then went to work for KYW TV, too. Andrea relocated to Washington, D.C. to work for the CBS affiliate there, before moving on to serve as a general correspondent for NBC. Andrea became the NBC News Energy Correspondent in the late 70s, and then the Chief Congressional Correspondent in the late 80s. She is the author of the novel, “Talking Back… to Presidents, Dictators, and Assorted Scoundrels “. Andrea Mitchell has been married to Alan Greenspan, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve, since 1997. They had dated for several years before finally making it legal on April 6, 1997. Greenspan is 20 year her senior. Previously, Andrea was married into a man named Gil Jackson, they divorced in the mid 1970s.
